Primrose is located on the Gauteng East Rand, it is a suburb of Germiston and forms part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Primrose is a popular, older residential suburb that offers a wide variety of different homes, including apartments and townhouses, to accommodate buyers and tenants of different ages and income groups. Primrose offers mainly older type homes, of which many have been upgraded.

Primrose is an established suburb, situated close to excellent schools, medical facilities, shopping centres and transport routes.

Primrose is centrally located, close to Bedfordview and offers easy access to all major highways and is situated approximately 10km from OR Tambo International Airport.

Primrose has a moderate subtropical climate with little humidity. The winters are mild and sunny, but nights are cold. Summers are pleasantly warm and sunny with frequent late afternoon thunderstorms. Spring and Autumn are mild and sunny but cold snaps can occur in April and September. The average winter temperature is 16° Celsius, with the average summer temperature being 25° Celsius.
